53 new Covid19 Positive cases in Assam, Count Mounts to 319
Assam has reported 53 new COVID-19 positive cases together which is the highest-one-time spike of cases in the State.
Assam has reported 53 new COVID-19 positive cases together which is the highest-one-time spike of cases in the State. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the new cases from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre in Guwahati, Dima Hasao and Cachar districts. Dr. Sarma said that 44 cases are from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre. On the other hand, 7 positive cases are from Dima Hasao and 2 from Cachar. With these new cases, the tally in the State has reached 319 with 258 active cases.

To screen all the people coming from outside the state, the government has set up five zonal screening camps, besides those already existing at the district headquarters and local levels.
Kokrajhar has zonal screening camp for Lower Assam districts, Tezpur for North Assam districts, Jorhat for Upper Assam districts, Guwahati for Central Assam districts and Silchar for Barak Valley districts.
