Breaking: Nagaland Reports its First Covid-19 positive case
"First positive case reported in Nagaland. Three returnees from Chennai (Sharamik Express) tested Positive for Covid-19.
After sikkim, Nagaland reported its first cases of the deadly contagion after 3 people - who had recently returned from Chennai tested positive on Monday.
The samples of these 3 people were tested at the newly inaugurated BSL-3 labrotory in Kohima.
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom took to Twitter moments earlier to make the announcement. "First positive case reported in Nagaland. Three returnees from Chennai (Sharamik Express) tested Positive for Covid-19. They are undergoing treatment at DHD and Chedema, Kohima respectively, their condition is stable & all contact tracing are in progress", Phom wrote.
After the official announcement Cheif minister Neiphiu reo said " Unfortunately, 2 persons in Dimapur and 1 in Kohima have been tested positive for #COVID__19. Please do not panic. We need to handle it with utmost care and responsibility. Necessary action of contact tracing & containment measures are being taken and situation closely monitored".
It has to be mentioned that Nagaland’s first case was reported a month ago, but the patient migrated to Guwahati, So he was added to the tally of Assam.
